BLS – Basic Life Support

Basic Life Support Training & Certification Course in Southern California

Basic Life Support teaches skills for application in both in-facility and prehospital settings, focusing on high-quality CPR, improving chest compression fraction, and fostering high-performing team dynamics. The BLS Provider Course is designed to teach rescue techniques for adults, children, and infants, making it a crucial component of healthcare providers' basic life support training.

Course Content:

  • Adult & Pediatric CPR - This section covers the essential skills and knowledge needed to perform CPR on adults and children. Participants will learn the latest techniques recommended by the American Heart Association, preparing them to provide life-saving measures in various emergency situations, which is a fundamental aspect of our Basic Life Support Training in Diamond Bar.
  • Two-Rescuer Scenarios & Use of the Bag-Valve Mask - Trainees will participate in realistic scenarios that simulate emergency situations requiring CPR with two rescuers. This includes the effective use of the bag-valve mask, a vital skill for providing ventilation to patients in respiratory distress or failure. These scenarios are a critical part of onsite BLS training in Diamond Bar conducted by Always Safe & Healthy™.
  • Foreign-Body Airway Obstruction (Conscious & Unconscious) - This module focuses on recognizing and responding to choking in both conscious and unconscious individuals. Techniques for safely and effectively clearing the airway are covered, making this an essential skill set for emergency responders and a key element of the BLS certification classes in Southern California that we teach.
  • Automated External Defibrillation (Includes Child AED Update) - Participants will learn to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on both adults and children. This includes recognizing the need for defibrillation and safely administering it, a critical link in the chain of survival for cardiac arrest victims.
  • Special Resuscitation Situations - This part of the course covers less common but equally important scenarios that may require specialized resuscitation efforts. It prepares participants for a wide range of emergencies, enhancing their ability to respond effectively under pressure.
  • Other Cardiopulmonary Emergencies - This section goes beyond the basics, exploring additional cardiopulmonary emergencies healthcare providers may face. It expands the knowledge and skills for managing complex situations, including advanced airway management and shock recognition.
  • Stroke & Cardiac Arrest - Focusing on two of the most critical medical emergencies, this module equips learners with the knowledge to identify and respond to signs of stroke and cardiac arrest. Early recognition and prompt action can significantly impact outcomes, underscoring the value of this training.
