This course teaches students to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.
Course content:
- Assessment and first aid actions for the following life-threatening conditions: difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, and shock
- Control bleeding and bandaging
- Describe how high-quality CPR improves survival
- Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
- Explain the concepts of the Chain of Survival

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED Course (Parts 2 and 3) require students to meet with an American Heart Association Instructor to complete a hands-on skills practice session and a skills test. Upon successful completion of all three parts students receive a course completion card valid for two years. This course satisfies the EMSA Pediatric First Aid CPR/AED Childcare License Requirement.
This course is for community members seeking an initial or renewal Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR & AED Course Completion Card (Part 1 sold seperately).
