The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements. This blended learning optio allows for you to take the cognitive portion of the course online with the AHA at your own pace! Upon successfully completing this first step, you will schedule a time to come in and complete a review and skills session (parts 2 & 3) in order to receive your PALS certification just as if you took the traditional classroom session. The certification card is the exact same as the classroom session card!!

  • Key changes in pediatric advanced life support, reflecting the new science from the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care

HeartCode PALS Part 1 is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent circulatory (shock) emergencies, respiratory emergencies, arrythmias with or without adequate perfusion, and cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. 

Part 1: Online – approximately 6-9 hours depending on the level of knowledge and clinical experience of the student

Parts 2 and 3: The student will demonstrate proficiency in providing PALS skills. Successful completion of Heartcode® PALS includes three course parts:

Do You Need BLS? You can also get your BLS for Healthcare Providers Card during this course by adding the AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Skills Session from the menu below. After successfully completing both skills sessions, you will receive both certificates on the same day! 

CE/CME for Heartcode Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

The American Heart Association is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

AMA Credit Designation Statement – Physicians

The American Heart Association designates this enduring material for a maximum of 7.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

AAPA Credit Acceptance Statement – Physician Assistants

Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 7.25 hour of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ credit for completing this program.

AANP Credit Acceptance Statement – Nurse Practitioners

Nurse Practitioners receive AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.

ANCC Credit Designation Statement – Nurses

The maximum number of hours awarded for this CE activity is 6.50 contact hours.
